International Education Week (IEW) is November 12 - 16, 2012

To celebrate, this year, students in Grades 5 to 12 are invited to participate in The Think Globally Poetry Contest:The Power of Voice to communicate their thoughts on why it is important to be connected with the world and how international education can help us get connected.

Contest details can be found in the Teacher's Guide to the Think Globally Poetry Contest, which can also be found on the website along with additional information at http://www.education.alberta.ca/apps/internationalEducation/EducationWeek/default.asp

International education plays a pivotal role in inspiring our students to become informed global citizens who are socially, culturally, globally and environmentally responsible.

This contest encourages students to reflect and voice their thoughts on the importance of being engaged with the world and how international education can support the development of these connections.

The contest deadline is Monday, October 29, 2012.

We encourage students to take part in the Think Globally Poetry Contest and  hearing their thoughts on why Alberta should be globally engaged.

By adding an international element to education, we better prepare our students for future success in our global community and for the future prosperity of our province.
