Develop an Email Distribution 1 T. Boymook Consider creating a generic email address for your school council.  This provides an open and consistent opportunity for communication.  Use a free email site such as gmail.comCreate a generic account for your council ie school acronym and word council  ie SGACOUNCILUsing a generic account allows the School Council to have the consistent email address year after year regardless of the specific parents who are involved.  Therefore providing a consistent point of contact for all parentsAssign a member of the council executive to manage the email account or create an elected/appointed position for your council.  You can setup a rule in your account to forward messages from your council email account to a member of your council if you choose.Use this account to manage your council contacts and support email distribution as described by TrinaUse your account to manage and share council working documents - google docs provides tools for managing, sharing, and storing of council documentsIf using gmail consider using google docs form functionality to create online surveys and questionnaires as a way of inviting parents to participate or gathering input. As the members of your council change the contacts, documents, and communication of your council can be easily transitioned to the new council

great sharing this afternoon 0 M. Mulder Honestly, it was great to see/hear all the really great stuff going on -- loved Ecole Broxton "roving" school council meeting and the input gathered from parents in the broader school community.  Kudos to Rhonda and her group for putting the roving idea into action! I know there are tons of other best practices out there -- hope to see this forum used to log many, many good ideas.
